Free summer meals for Chicago Public Schools students CHICAGO — Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is launching its summer meals program Tuesday.Summer Meals and LunchStop will run at hundreds of school locations throughout CPS, including at all summer school programs, according to a press release from CPS. Meals will first be available June 20 at outdoor LunchStop locations with summer program site meals launching on June 26. Three teens among more than 60 shot across Chicago over weekend Students who participate in summer school programs, or who live in an area served by a summer program or LunchStop location, can receive the free meals. 2 men, 2 women killed in New York City e-bike shop fire: officials NEW YORK (WPIX) -- Four people are dead and several injured after a fire broke out in a New York City bike shop early Tuesday, authorities said. The blaze began around 12:15 a.m. inside the bike repair store on Manhattan's Lower East Side, officials said. Within 30 minutes, the fire escalated to a third alarm as billows of smoke enveloped the six-story building."We found heavy fire in an e-bike store, which is located on the first floor. We made an interior attack and put that fire out. LOUIS - Regulating short-term rentals is one way the St. Louis City plans to tackle crime.The discussion on short-term rentals comes after another weekend of violence in downtown St. Louis. The first bill would change the application and appeals processes. I-70 WB lanes reopened, 2-vehicle crash being investigated ST. LOUIS - Emergency crews were at the scene of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning. The crash took place on Interstate 70 westbound at the Missouri River and Blanchette Bridge a little before 7:00 a.m. Heavy backups could be seen in the area as a car and semi-truck were heavily damaged. Man on Venice rooftop throws pieces of wood at firefighters A man who climbed onto a rooftop in Venice began throwing pieces of wood at first responders late Monday night.The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Main Street.A man is seen throwing wood from a rooftop in Venice on June 19, 2023. (OnScene.TV)A man being followed by police after allegedly standing on top of a Metro bus eventually climbed on top of a building that was under construction in the area. Video from the scene showed the shirtless man grabbing onto loose wires and walking around on the roof. At one point the man was picking up large pieces of wood and throwing them in the direction of Los Angeles County firefighters who were at the scene. Firefighters and police left the scene after about 90 minutes. No one was injured in the incident and It was unclear if the man was taken into custody.
